The Curse Of The Stoves!

Hi my name is BrinLee but, you can call me Brin. I’m nine years old I have long blond hair and I have blue eyes. I have one brother his name is Mitchell. He has dark brown hair and brown eyes he is fourteen. He is a really good brother he watches me after school because our mom works full time at a hotel as a maid. My moms name is kourtney she has brown hair and big blue eyes. My dad was killed in a car accident. The day I was born, he was on the mountain for the deer hunt. As soon as he heard my mom was in labor he backed up his things and he come off the mountain. To get off the mountain he had to take this long dirt road and he hit a rock a big rock and rolled off the mountain. His name is Corbin. We live in a little town called Castle Dale it is by the mountains and by the desert so we can go camping and fishing and go to the desert all in the same day.
Oh…. I’m going to tell you a story that you will never believe it is so freaky. Ok so I think it was last year about September 15th, mom was working as usual. me and Mitchell were in the kitchen talking and making a pizza for dinner. Then all of a sudden the stove came to life and said, “I’m going to bake you and eat you.” He started to laugh this really creepy loud laugh. The stove started to spit fire at us and, the stoves keep missing and now our house is on fire. I started to scream as loud as I could. Mitchell called the fire department. When the stove heard the fire truck it stopped spitting fire and went back to being a normal stove and just sitting there froze. Then the fire department broke in to our house and asked “Where’s the fire?” we told them about the stove but they did not believe us and they said if we call them again and there is not a fire we would go to kids jail. After they left we went to bed and about an hour later our mom came in and kissed us and told us good night.
The next day at school I was sitting at my desk right before lunch. We he this horrible scream coming from the lunch room, it sounded like she was dying or something like that. We all run in the lunch room to see what happened, I thought the lunch lady saw a rat. But I was totally wrong she was getting cooked by the oven that was in the center of the lunch room. Her face was shoved in last so when the oven shut, her face was facing us and we could hear her screaming and then she disinterred in to the oven. Then the stove started to creak and the moan and then it burst in to flames and started to laugh in a deep, evil, , loud laugh and it scared all of us kids and we ran in to our class room and locked the door. We heard the stove deep loud, evil, laugh and then all of a sudden “AHHHH” it was our teacher screaming! It was a high pitch voice that cracked my friend’s glasses.

All of a sudden it went quiet, so quiet that you could hear nothing but the bounding of your heart. Then the stove came bursting through the door. The slivers of the door came and hit us and we were in the back of the room, we went to the farthest we could get from the door. The stove started to come at us it was on fire now. All the desks were on fire and the floor the stove came so close to us that I could feel the fire burning me. Then our teacher ran in to her class room and called nine one one. Once the stove heard her talk on the phone it ran in to the kitchen and every thing was back to normal the desks were not burnt the door was back together and, the kitchen was perfectly back together nothing was out of order. Sadly the lunch lady was gone she dispersed no finger prints no trace of here.  When the fire department got to my school they asked us where the fire is and we explained how the lunch lady died and how the stove came to life but they did not believe us. They told my teacher that if she called the fire department again, when there is no fire that she would go to jail. When we went back to class we all just sat there and did nothing we were to shocked to do anything.

When the bell rang to go home I ran as fast as I could. When I got home Mitchell was already there waiting for me. I told him all about what happened at school. Mitchell said I was in 4th hour.      We were cooking then we all heard this moaning sound and then all of a sudden the stove burst in to flames. Then it started to laugh in a deep, loud and evil sounding. It started to walk towards us and I take off running down the hall. I look back to see if it was following  me it was, know the school is on fire because of  the stove.  When I finally reach the office to call the fire department once it heard me call the stove took off towards the classroom. Then the fire went away and the walls were not burnet and the smell of something burning was gone.  When the fire department came and, seen that there was no fire. The main chef said, “If you were ever to call us when there is no fire that I would go to jail.”
Then it was silent. I did not want to talk about it any more. So I turned on the movie, the little mermaid. That movie always calms me down. Mitchell left he room because he hates that movie I was freaking out so I had to watch it.
“I’m home” mom says” how was school?” we told her about what happened, and about the lunch lady getting eating by the stove and how no one would believe them.  Then she said, “o all you have to do is flip this switch and it becomes nice again. “Ok thanks good night.” I said to my mom.
I was excited to go to school today so I could tell everyone that I know how to fix the oven and so I told my teacher and she tried it and it worked and know every thing is back to normal. When I came home Mitchell was home and he said, “that it did not work and it happened again and my class can not   a way to fix it we tried every thing. But it will not work so we through it away so now the school has to by us a new stove.

  1. Abby, I would never expect the lunch lady's stove to turn evil, but if it ever does, I will remember to flip the switch! Great details in your story. I also like the funny ending--the mom telling the kids to just flip the switch is a great contrast to the seriousness of the stove burning things and the teacher getting in trouble with the fire department.
